I plan to leave mine in and bend up the front "tang" to provide a mounting point for the bottom of a piece of MDX that I will use to fill the void where the tank once went. Figuring I will use it for speakers and secured storage (i.e., a lock box). As others have said, it is spot welded in; so you would need to drill out the spot welds to remove it.
