Re: Under dash Valence, Steel build along
So the dash was welded on crooked and it's twisted some.
The drivers side is on the right, the panel I made is flush with the end of the dash and is 5/8" back from the door jam. the passenger side is flush with the end of the dash and about 3/16" back from the door jam. Also I made the pattern from the driver side and I hade to split, hammer and dolly about 1-1/2" of the panel to get it to come over to the door jam. the Passenger side fit perfectly . HOW did that happen, don't know. Top lip, I knew I was going to grind off most of it a bend the lip over a good bit so it would fit better, this changed the radius and I had to bend it by hand, a little here and there to make it fit. Also had to cut it back a lot, some places (at the door jam) where the red line is in the picture. They fit good now. but not so easy. You would be cussing me most of the time. The long piece, you have someone bend it for you to my pattern. I don't have a break to make them. I had two C clamps holding it to the dash, you would have to find the exact spot to clamp it. |
