Re: Starting issue
sorry, i was prolly writing as you posted your last. I just wanted to mention that you can easily go down the rabbit hole of what you tube says or whatever. in relation to what a high performance carbed engine would run and what you ACTUALY need for YOUR application, there may be some discrepancy. remember there are lots of vehicles with sbc carbed engines driving around with off the shelf parts at economical prices. again, that rabbit hole. yes, you can spend a lot of money on the fuel system but you can also spend a lot less and have a good running reliable driver. you might be able to find a filter with a 90 degree outlet but then it probably wouldn't be readily available.
make sure the tank is clean make sure the lines are clean have the lines retained well along the frame make sure the line connections are leak proof from tank to carb run a pre pump filter-off the shelf have the filter supported well run good quality fuel hose and clamps make sure the carb is clean and set up properly make sure the pump is doing it's job properly-volume and pressure tested-able to hold pressure post pump make sure the engine is in a good state of tune make sure the exhaust is adequate enjoy |
