New here, Introducing myself(NOW WITH PICS)
Hello. Looks like a good website for info on my latest project. I will give you a little bit of history first.
I just inherited a 1966 fleetside longbed chevy truck. 283 3 speed, Red with white top, chrome bumpers and metal bed. It was my grandfather's truck he bought in 1970 from a friend of his. So I will be the third owner. I learned how to drive in this truck, my grandpa and my dad let me drive it out on the backroads of Kentucky when I was about 10 years old on. My grandfather passed away from lung cancer on my 12th birthday in 1986. (So you can imagine the importance of this trucks restoration) From that day the truck has set in a barn on my grandparents farm covered in chicken poop, hay, cat poop, you name it. Presently this week it will be drug out, put on a trailer and moved about 30 miles to my garage. Through all the family squabbles and all I was asked what I would like to have from my grandfather, the farm, etc...all I asked for was that old truck. So I will start restoring it in the coming months with yalls help I hope. I will try to get pictures soon to show yall. I look forward to starting this project. ![]() Donovan Elizabethtown, Kentucky
