Well, it's 4 AM, but the Chevy roars to life once again!
I'm tired, my hands and arms are covered in cuts and scrapes, and I think I swallowed some dirt that fell off my frame; but my exhaust is again in one piece, and the truck is alive!
A little back story, after I got the truck back from the tranny guy and the exhaust manifolds were cracked, I called my Dad. He immediately went to work on the tranny guy.. and whaddya know, a couple days later I get a call.. "I'm looking for some replacement manifolds for you." About a week later, I get another call, and he says he's got two new ones. Great! Got 'em last night, decent manifolds. Got home about 11 PM.. and of course I had to go put them on. I figured I'd be done in an hour or so. Wrong! 4 hours and hundreds of profanities later, they are FINALLY in. I thought I was gonna have to drop my starter at one point, but a prybar got me around that. Anyway, just drove it around a bit, it seems to be OK. Running a little funny, but maybe that's just because it sat for a couple weeks. I'm really hoping none of my valves are warped.. Exhaust quieted down a bit from the new manifolds, too. Anyway, I won't get any sleep tonight and work is gonna be busy tomorrow, but I'm happy!
