New Springs
Well, I ordered a new set of coil springs for the truck Tuesday from Early Classic. 2" drop front and 3" drop rear. I've replaced all bushings in the frontend including tie-rods, center link, discs & spindles. I have yet to replace the trailing arm bushings, but that is next on the list. I got tired of the way the 35yr old springs were riding, needless to say, the six cyl. front springs didn't hold up well to the weight of the 396 (408) very well. It's like riding a buck board driving down the road when you hit a bump! They should be here Friday and I'll put them in by the middle of next week, so I'll let you know how it rides. I also ordered the shock relocators to go with it. Now that the engine has reached the 1K mark, I'm headed to the 1/8th in no time. Track times to come in the near future.
