Using older Harrison Brackets on a York writeup.
Welp, I got my York in the mail today and couldnt wait to get that puppy installed, but since I had no other options I had to modify my old brackets from a Harrison compressor (used on older TBI motors I believe) So I took some pics along the way and hopefully this will help some people with older V belt setups like mine who dont have tons of money to spend on kits.
Soooo... Here we go. First I went ahead and ripped off the old harrison compressor, I didnt take any pics along the way. Its pretty self explanitory. Here is a pic of the york and the bracket that came off the harrison. You can see it bolts up to the front flange of the york pretty easily, I just had to drill 2 holes over about 1/4 inch and goto the store to pick up longer bolts for it. (1/4 x 3/4" I believe) Heres a pic of the flange of the harrison, the flanges are quite similar. Here is a pic of the motor for reference to where the compressor will mount. The compressor should be mounted on its side, atleast thats how I did it for hood clearance reasons and bolt clearance also. There isnt much room for play in the belt that needs to be run, so be sure to pick up a smaller one rather than a larger. I used a 55.5 inch I believe. Here is a pic of the clearance between the bracket and bottom of the compressor. Here is the last pic of the compressor mounted... Thats all there really is to it. Its quite easy, gives the compressor a good position to easily fill oil and makes belt adjustments quite easy also. The only thing I may still do is brace it from the back. If I do I will update the post... feel free to post questions!
