almost cooked the 4x4
Well yesterday it was 70 degrees and I decided to get the 4x4 out and get her ready for the summer. I started it up after it had been sitting since november, I left it ideling at the end of the garage, went back in the garage to get my sun glasses and noticed a line of drips going to where the truck now sat ideling. Thought to myself (thats odd she never leaked anything before) leaned over and smelled it "gassoline" as it hit me that the truck was sitting there ideling about 20 or so feet from me (holly crap)thats gas and this thing is gonna burn up.I sprinted to it and shut it off. Looked around to see where the hell gas was leaking from. Well to make a long story just a bit longer, it turned out to be the in line fuel filter from the fuel pump to the carb was loose and gas was shooting out all over, fuel was runing down the motor onto the starter. Don't know why it did'nt just burn up right there......guess It just was'nt her time to go..haha... I can tell you this, it is very scary seeing your baby in that kind of situation....well just figured i'd share my story with you guys.. Just rember check every thing real good the first time you get your truck out of storage....John
