Found the problem with my gas gauge

All the wires seemed OK. As near as I could tell, the ohms were about where they should have been-I figured I had about a half a tank, and the ohms were about 45, so I pulled out the cluster to check out things there and to replace a couple lights that were not working and I found this:

See the break in the circut? (that also explained the lights not working) I had an extra circut board so I swapped it out and plugged in the wire harness and nothing! No change at all in where the gauge was (about 3/4 tank). I decided to change the gauge itself, so I dusted the donor up and changed it out and it worked! I studied the old gauge carefully and noticed that the needle was very stiff-much harder to move than the donor. I think it was stuck in place for so long that it kinda froze in place and wouldn't move.
