Possible transmission problems?
Just recently... the last couple weeks I've noticed a kind of squeak/whine noise coming from the engine compartment. At first I was baffled as to what it was, then I started troubleshooting. Thought it might be an accessory making noises, so I repacked the alt. bearing. That wasn't it, quiet. Then I thought maybe the power steering pump. That wasnt it either, quiet as well. Moving on, I noticed my passenger side header was extremely close the frame rail, so I took it off and made a little notch so it would be completely clear. Still having this problem with the squeaking/whining noise. I stuck my head in the compartment after I had driving for about 20 mins. There is a noise coming from the trans area. The noise isn't like you can hear it a block away, but it is evident. What could be making that noise? Converter, front pump? I have a TH350 trans that I bought rebuilt from a discount tranny place about 2 years ago. I only have about 4-5000 miles on the trans and converter. The converter was a stall unit from PAW discount parts. Any ideas on how i can diagnosis this any further? I need input..... thanks!
