Fuel consumption reality check.

Since we have not hooked up the tank(s) to the fuel pump until we get them dropped and clean, we filled a bottle with gas to move my son's 83 to the shop. A whopping 110 feet. Used half the bottle. (20 oz bottle). Getting it back to the house used the whole thing. Needless to say, he is realizing dad may be right is suggesting a stock motor for his truck. The truck came with a new, unstarted motor. 350 bored .30. Ported and polished heads port matched to a Torquer intake with a Holley 750 a descent cam, rebuilt TH350 with a kit and 2500 stall. Granted, the short trip felt great, but the fuel use finally opened his eyes.
