tire carrier,rear suburban?

Hello,
I am from western northern Michigan on the 45th parallel. I am working on a
1991 Suburban. Lots of projects. I am trying to find information (pictures)
of a rear mounted tire carrier with the barn doors. I want to mount the
carrier to the hings that are allready in place. Has anyone tried this. If not
a good idea why not? Tire size is 35 x 12.5 x 16" I know it will be pretty
heavy but I think the factor hings should hold the tire.
Any comments will be appreciated.
