Question Front Brake Conversion

I am looking to drop the front end of my GF's 68 GMC pick up 2 inches. I wanted to go with drop spindles to have the least impact on the steering hardware. The truck has front drum brakes and I have been told that I need to convert over to disc brakes for the spindles to be installed. Anyone have good advice on how to procede or a link on how this can be done? I am still a newbie to all of this. Thanks!!
