Replacing Driver's Window 1978 K25

I need to replace a broken window in my '78. I have a factory service manual, but it only describes how to replace the entire assembly (glass & sash channel). How does the glass attach to the channel? I don't have it apart yet. LMC has a good price for the glass--they also show a filler channel, which I assume I will need? Any and all tips appreciated.
