Not sure on AC models but my non AC truck has a 4 wire plug that goes onto the switch. One is power and the other 3 are the different speeds. Make a jumper wire and you can play switch board operator. Just find the one that has power and jump from that one to any of the other 3.
To make it easier, you can wire in a switch.
