Disc Brake Conversion

I have a 1970 Chev C10 (6 Lug) and the next project for me will be a brake conversion to discs up front. Wondering what the best option is:...

1) A six lug disc brake kit.
*Upside: New parts, probably easier for an inexperienced wrencher?
*Downfall: price
2) A 71-72 front cross member swap.
*Upside: Probably cheaper
*Downside: Old parts, because it will be five lug, be looking for a rear axel too.

I'm thinking option #1, the six lug disc brake conversion kit. If I've missed something, you agree or you see fault in my logic please chime in. Also if I go the "kit" route can you recommend which one you feel would have the best quality and ease of installation?
