LWB to SWB

Has any one out there shortened the 88 to 98 long wheelbase Chevy to a short wheelbase . I asked around and got a few different ways to do it . I m just trying to keep it as simple as possible . I have a complete short frame to use for parts. would it be easier to change the complete frame or cut the LWB and use the back half of the SWB . I v also been told I could move all the rear suspension forward and then just cut off the back section of the frame. This sounds simplest, has anyone done this type of modification?
