Take into account that you have larger wheels than what was stock, so it takes more to accelerate and slow it down because of the inertia of the larger wheels & tires. The was an article in Road & Track or Car & Driver about larger wheels and tires and this was one of there points. Once you get past a 2" increase in diameter, you have to take this into consideration. Have you considered a hyrodboost system like what is on a diesel? I know the one I have on my 79 whoas it down, and it isn't in the best shape.
