Hello All.
Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself as a new member and post some pics of my truck (great, another project post). I have been watching your board for some time now as an outsider getting ideas and enjoying your posts. I thought it was about time that I joined in on the fun or, should I say, join in with all the other good people out there with the same addiction I have... Chevy Trucks. I went out last fall looking for a 67-72 era work truck. Was my girlfriend surprised when I came home with the truck you see below. I couldn't pass it up and have enjoyed spending countless hours and $$$ on customizing it with a long way still to go. After buying the truck, I got to know some guys around town who have a hot rod shop and the rest is history. Of the 4 guys at the shop, 1 has a 67 SWB project truck and a 69 SWB driver, another has a 71 SWB project, another has a 75 SWB driver and, finally, the fourth guy has a 2000 SWB driver. I knew I would fit in right away. I have included a picture of one of their other hot rods for your enjoyment. The previous owner did a pretty nice job on the truck but here are some of the things I have done since... Replaced the manual drum front end with a 73-87 power disc brake swap, 2" drop spindle and 1" out of the springs. New 3:73 posi, 5-bolt axles and brakes in the rear, custom frame notch, swapped the leaf spring to the bottom of the axle housing and re-arched the spring pack (about 6" drop). New radiator, shroud, pulleys, alternator. Vintage Air sure-fit system. And, 17" Eagle Alloys. Thanks again for welcoming me and enjoy the photos.
