The last real stereo I worked on with my brother had a total bill of $125k. That did not include the truck price or the custom work done to the truck outside of the stereo. The truck won 17 straight first places and 8 best of shows the first year, went to IASCA Nationals and won 1000 watt unlimited consumer class, plus set a new SPL record (before the days of 90db rules and db drags). It was featured in Truckin' and Auto Sound and Security, then sold for $35k.
The $125k stereo worked out to include $50k of labor. It was an incredible truck and won everything it was entered in. But there is no way it would have ever sold for that price.
If you buy a chopper from West Coast Choppers, you will pay $75k+ for a $30k bike basted on name alone. I don't know of many people who have that level of pull when it coomes to our trucks. A few guy's on this board should, however.
