A few new parts for my best friends 66
As most of you know that follow this site closely...my oldest and best frend was killed in a motorcycle accident this summer (Deals Gap). His parents gave me his 66 Chevy we built 20+ years ago. The truck is very nice and well cared for but it screams..."re-done in the 80's". I am trying not to change the truck but to "update" it a little. Added Corvette ralleys, got rid of the fake braded hoses, swapped out the HUGE yellow super coil for a smaller one, changed out the ridiculous small chrome air cleaner for one that looks a little more stock for a 327 (look closely..what u think its from), painted me up some valve covers to replace the terrable M/T tall finned covers and finnally found a great deal on a set of "custom" pillar moulding. Working on getting the 12" round steering wheel replaced with one a little more period and eventually I would like to put a trim package on it.
While you all are here.......He had put 3/4 ton springs in the truck front and rear because it was his boat hauler. I am planning to drop the truck a little bit with drop springs only. I dont want it stupid low and I am not intereted in doing drop spindles..something simple like a 2 and 3 spring kit will do. What are your opinions?????? Oh yea...the 1985 F-150 mirrors are going too!!!!! Last edited by 72freak; 10-03-2006 at 09:39 PM. |
