Pardon the Interruption
I have spent most of my time on the 67-72 area as I have a 1972 C/10. I also have a few 73-77 trucks that were going to be used to build me a 1 ton to haul my old D-17 AC tractor and equipment around. I also drag race a 1972 Nova when I can and have a 24' enclosed that I haul it in. I have been using my 99 Chevy 1/2 ton extended cab with a load equalizing hitch and sway control. It will do the job but it works the thing harder than I like. My original plan was a rough old 1 ton for rough stuff and continue using the 99 for the race car. Last Sat. (Sept. 30.) I stopped at a yard sale and it turned out that it was an estate sale and everything was for sale. He (the deceased) had several old trucks and parts of trucks but in the group was a 1977 C/30 dually. It's a regular cab long bed black with red interior. It's a 454 with an automatic, PS, PB, AC. The truck has been slicked up at some point and it's starting to show in a few places. It still looks good at 20 ft. so I'm not going to tear into the bodywork at this point. I'm going to check out the drive train and brakes and make sure all is well there then do a little sprucing up. I'll get pictures posted as soon as I can get time to take them. So hope to spend a little more time here and help out if I can. Thanks. Sorry for the long post.
