1955 decisions

I've been reading this forum for a while and trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can and decided it was time to register and join in on the fun. My father and I did a stock restoration on this 1955 about 12 years ago and it was my first vehicle when I was 16 and I've been wanting to take it to the next level for a while now but am not sure how I want to go with it. Ever since I was a kid and saw my first 4WD '55 I have always wanted to take this truck and make it a custom 4x4. My question is where to get the parts. I was wondering if a late 60's or early 70's (possibly '72?) transfer case and axles would be customizable enough to work on this truck...or if there is a better means of doing the conversion.

I'm still undecided as to whether I want to go 4WD with this or just beef up the power and fuel inject it with a in-frame gas tank.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me learn a ton up until this point and for any information you can help me with in the future.
