Locker Parts Question

I put a used/original Locker in my Eaton and had problem,so I took it right back out.I had a second one and put that in,no problems. On inspection (again) we saw nothing wrong and it only goes together one way.I had taken it apart to inspect/clean prior to installing. The problem I had was one wheel spun full-time and the other didn`t.It was worst than bias.It was hard to start moving w/o skirchin`the live side.It took 5 trys to back up the slope of my gravel driveway.I suspected a broken spring. When we re-inspected it we saw nothing wrong.Well,in the process one spring got lost (at friend`s shop). So,I want to get another spring.I`m sure an HO52 part would be a tough find.I`m wondering if the 14-bolt spring could interchange since the two units can interchange. It`s a shot in the dark.Any suggestions?I haven`t called anyone about service parts.Again, anyone to recommend asking?
