noob.. basic difference between c10 and c20?

I have a crush on the 67-72 C10/C20 line of trucks and I'm getting close to closing a deal on my 1st one. It looks like I'm settling on a particular local truck (72 GMC 3/4 ton long bed) due to the price and overall condition of the truck, but I'm ignorant of what the real difference is between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton besides rear springs, 8 lug spindles, and rear axle.

My general plan is to mosltly keep that original classic feel of the truck by restoring most of the original truck, but I'll probably do some subtle modern tweaks like change the color slightly, new interior, spray in bedliner, new wheels, and lower the ride height very slightly (1.5 inches or so).

I've noticed that the c10 is more popular/expensive in my area and honestly I haven't noticed even one c20 that was hot-rodded...why is that? Is there some fundamental reason the c10 is thought to be better by some?

I'd have thought the c20 would be a bit heavier duty including the posi and beefy rear end, but ????

Appreciate your input.
Thanks,
Jon
