Need shifter info

I bought a 69 c10 that the prior owner installed a Hurst Mastershift conversion in. It converts the three-on-the-tree to floor shift.

I need to see if anyone has the installation instructions for this kit because this thing seems to be really screwed up. I am having dificulties finding any gear. (and yes I know how to drive stick)

I also thought it was odd to have this shift pattern:

I guess this is the only way to set it up???
