PS Pump Mounting Question
Here's a little background. My '75 1/2 ton 2wd originally had a 250/3-speed and was converted to a 350/TH400. Also, the guy that converted it put an Edelbrock intake on it (and painted it blue ).
Anyway, I don't think the bracket on there is right. I tried to replace the belt yesterday and when I tried to pull the old belt off, I had to totally unbolt the pump. There is no room for the pump to slide down to loosen the belt without unbolting the pivot bolt. The belt I got (same number as old one) was too tight and I couldn't get it on there. It was slightly shorter than the old one probably do to the old one being stretched. It just seems like there should be more adjustment room for the pump to slide back and forth. Here are the pics of the PS pump and how it bolts up. The pivot bolt goes through the waterpump which seems to be right. However, the long bracket that bolts into the intake doesn't seem right. I don't have AC and the belt just goes from the PS to Crank pulley. http://www.shelbournes.net/trucksite...s/ps_pump1.jpg http://www.shelbournes.net/trucksite...s/ps_pump2.jpg http://www.shelbournes.net/trucksite...s/ps_pump3.jpg Does anyone have a picture of how their PS pump is mounted? Also, does this seem right? How should it be mounted and with what bracket? Thanks in advance!!
