'62 2 ton
Well, let me start off by saying I'm 14, and a freshman in high school, and this truck will most likely be used for my senior project.
Its a 1962 Chevy C60 (these are 2.5 ton right?) with a straight 6 and a Clark? 5 speed and a 2 spd rear axle. It doesnt have breaks and the axle doesnt shift. (its runs on vacuum, so, maybe a line is unhooked/rotted?) so its not drivable right now. but the best part is, i paid $100 for it and just had to drag it out of the holler it had been sitting in for about 10 years. and i only have another $100 in it. my plans are: Engine/drive train: first things first, POWER STEERING! sticking with the straight 6. except its getting a bigger one......when i get the money of course (read: CUMMINS) probably keep the 5 spd thats in it. keeping the 2spd axle Exterior: Im thinking red and white 2 tone. Black steel flat bed w/ built in goose neck. Interior: probably painting the dash white full autometer gauges cloth bench seat. or maybe a 20/60/20 (a bench with captains chair backs and a folding console in the middle.) Custom Stuff: thinking about grafting another 62 cab onto the back and making it a crew cab. tilt nose? (still iffy, leaning twards no on that one though) yeah i know so, this is the only one i have right now. and its about 2 years old. like the mountain dew bottle gas cap? thats rat rod material right there lol Also, can anyone tell me what transmission this is if i show your the shift pattern? its really funky. ^^pic credit goes to 1969 GMC P.S. sense im 14 and dont have a job, i probably wont be doing much to this until around this summer. -Jake Last edited by 62 C60; 01-07-2008 at 12:37 PM. |
