Heater Box and A/C question
Picked up a 72 C10 last weekend. And have been tinkering with it. It was a factory A/C truck, the compressor and a few other parts have been removed with an engine swap. Everything in the cab seems to be there, but it just doesn't seem to work right.
I swapped the dash pad tonight and was poking around at the hoses and tubes in there. The controls work fine with no cables attached. The cables move fine unhooked. But the levers on the box are very hard to move when everything is connected. With the cables unhooked I can move the levers on the box by hand, but its not as easy as I would think. I have no intentions of putting the A/C back in. So my question would be. Is this repairable by removing the box and figuring out what the jam is? Or should I cut my loses and just install a new box, since I already have it out? Also there are 2 vents on the top of the dash, assuming they are for defrost/de-ice. They have no hoses going to them. Is this normal? Seems to me that they should have something attached to them. Sorry for making this long winded. |
