Got the choke working.... with some delima...

Well, Joe's diagram answered all the questions. But something I didn't consider, I have a oil "gauge". Which means I have both an oil sending unit. and an oil pressure switch. Both the choke AND the sending unit get their operating voltage from the pressure switch. The problem I had was that there was in fact an oil pressure switch on the truck, but the harness connector was slightly smaller and wouldn't stab on to the two terminals on the switch. The switch terminals were slightly farther apart then the wiring harness. It's a newer motor in the truck, so I figured I'd go buy the switch for my year model, but it was the same switch. Of course asking for a switch for a truck with a gauge baffled the guy at the counter. His screen asked if I had a light or a gauge, and the part he first came out with was a one terminal sending unit. Explained the use of the switch and searched different descriptions, but finally bought a switch for a truck with a light.

Had to cut my connector off and use spade lugs. Don't know if they sell a special switch for that purpose, or if my harness connector just got slightly deformed hanging there in the heat not connected. Either way, works great now. Thanks for the input on the other post.
