Post rear end seal?

my dads 96 dodge 3/4 tons brakes are locking up in the back, last time this happened it was rear end fluid leaking out, and it would make them lock up. he told me to change the seals, and it is a floating rearend. this should be pretty strait forward. take of the wheel, take out the 8 bolts, slide the axle out, and take the seal out and put the new one in, right? any advice before i do this little project? thanks, Ben
