R134 Conversion - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Has anybody attempted an R12 to R134 conversion on their trucks? An unexpected leak several years back finally made me stop using R12 in my 66's factory system due to the high cost of R12.

It blew cold air before, but the airflow wasn't all that great and it sounded like hurricane. I had rebuilt the entire system with new components where needed and new gaskets in the airbox, etc.

Anyway, I'm wondering how much less efficient the system will be if I convert. It always seemed marginal before with the R12.
