The point of the rule is to keep all of the relevant information in one place. It is far easier figure out the results from a "search". It is also less confusing to people that are trying to help you with your question. The "flow" is interrupted and sometimes the information posted in multiple-post threads is conflicting, which adds to confusion.

I have never read the rules of the Board and have always used common sense when I'm on here.

You had to agree to the rules when you signed up, plus they are "sticky-ed" at the top of every forum.
