Dyno Results - 454
For any of you that have been on the fence or wondered about running your motor on a dyno, this was a great experience. We could monitor oil pressure and temp, coolant temp, Air/fuel ratio per cylinder, fuel usage between front and back bowls.
We broke the motor in on the dyno and we watched as the oil temp climbed 240 degrees, to hot to be comfortable, so we shut the motor down to let it cool - not a comfortable moment while breaking in a new camshaft - but something I would have never seen if I broke in the cam in my truck After breakin the oil temps came into line - it can be as simple as a little to much oil in the sump to cause the temps to go up.
