Room for a shifter between the seat and door? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I believe, a long time ago, I saw a picture in one of the magazines of a truck with an auto trans sifter that was mounted between the seat and the door. I cant get to my truck right now to check but does anyone know if there is enough room? I don't remember the shape of the floor pan right there either but I think its at a steep angle?
Any help on a first post to this forum would be greatly appreciated.
