Russell brake line fitment question?

I am installing Russell stainless steel brake lines on my 84 C10 and they seem to be too short in the front. Are you guys running them factory routing on top of the control arm then drop down to the caliper? If not then how are you running them? When placed in the stock routing they really seem to be stretched all the way and that is whith the wheels pointing straight. Can someone please let me know how I need to route these lines? Thanks.
