Lightbulb TH350 or 350C?

My truck originally came with a 350C.. and I was thinking that with todays gas prices the way they are, it might get a little better MPG with the overdrive. With the 350 in my truck now(.030 over, Edelbrock cam, intake, flattops and long tube headers), I was wondering if it's possible, or feasible to build a TH350C to handle the power(and future power) this engine will make.. or just stick with the TH350 in it and just deal with it without the overdrive?
