New Guy with New Truck

Hi Guys and Gals.

My name is Robert Mahoney, I live in Stillwater, Oklahoma. I'm 20 and attending OSU. I've always wanted a classic truck to work on but never had the money. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and know my way around. Most of my problem is just never having the right tool. I recently found my '65 GMC short bed fenderside on the internet. I paid $1,500 bucks for it and i honestly think its a steal!

It came very straight, little rust, 305E V6, 3 on the tree, new brake system, new wiring, new seat... its awesome. oh.. and it runs very well. I've looked around and most body shells with no motors or trannys cost more than my truck, so im happy. Anywho I've started messing with it. Cleaned the interior up, bled the brakes (drums), and rubber coated the rear half of the frame due to not having any wood in the bed. It's still not "Street legal" I need to get a tag, and new windshield and I should be gooooodd tooo gooo.

I plan to build this truck up into a "phyco billy" type deal. ANYWAYS... here she is....
