Hello, I've been a lurker for a while, but now that I bought a Surburban I've signed up as a supporter.

I broke several of my personal rules buying this car (don't buy a car on e-bay, don't buy without a test drive, ...) but it all worked out okay. It's a 72 3/4 ton 2WD, with a 350 and TH400. It looks decent from 20 feet away, lived most of it's life in AZ so it's pretty rust-free (but not entirely so) and mechanically in decent shape.

All the money I saved with my "good deal" I have spent making it run reliably - it had sat for a long time, so I've replaced the entire fuel system from tank to carb, plus a few other things.

I bought it because the wife got the SUV in the divorce :-( and I've needed something to haul and occasionally tow for my other car projects. I was trying not to turn this into another "project", but I already have, after falling in love with it. Future plans call for new wiring, interior, glass, and eventually body and paint. (okay, so I will try to resist taking the body off the frame...)

If I did this right, here's a picture (from the original seller):
