Greetings from Beaverton, Oregon
I just purchased a 1972 Chevy C10 as a project truck (i.e., it is for projects, and it is a project ). I’m trying to get it running reliably/safely and stop the decomposition (rust). I'd like to restore it someday, given free time and money, but with two young children, that won't happen soon.
I'm finally at a place in life where I can afford to have other people work on my newer vehicles, but I still like to learn and tinker. I’m somewhat mechanically inclined, but I don’t know much about these trucks. I want to learn to do my own work on it. I've already replaced the starter (unexpectedly, in the rain, at a friend's house) and battery and done some other minor things. It's almost to the point I feel safe driving it! This forum looks like a great resource. I'm also hoping to find a person or network of folks in my area.
