Post Alternate hood hinges???

Hey,

I recently purchased a '77 Chevy 1/2 Ton Stepside that has been extensively modified to run on the strip. The truck came with a flimsy fiberglass good with a GIANT Harwood scoop that looks way too big to run on the street in my opinion. The hood uses Dutz fasterners and has no hinges. I have a simple cowl hood that I want to install, but the truck has no inner fender panels where a stock hinge would mount.

Is there any trick-looking hinge available that would not require the inner panels? Something without a spring maybe? I figure I can just use a chrome prop rod or something or maybe lock the hinge somehow to keep the hood up.

Any ideas are appreciated. I need all the help I can get!
