Helo from San Diego

Obviously my name is Mike, I bought a 69 C20 about six months ago for $700 from the original owner who was planning to give it to a homeless shelter I asked him how much he would sell it for and he said $1000, feeling he was not firm on the price I countered with $700 and he said "ok". My current plans are to convert it to a C10 swb, mostly because of the resale value and I like the look of them better. A friend of mine and this fourm "backyard88" steered me to rokcrln's low buck truck build where he shortened the long bed and frame, that thread was exactly what I was looking, it was very informitive and well documented.
I am a welding instructor as well as a fabrcator and feel comfortable taking on this challenge. I am not a body man so this will be a challenging part. I look forward to learning alot on this build as well as sharing my experiences.

The tires are just sitting in front of the old wheels to see if I like them
