I've got an '86 GMC that was making a horrible clicking sound. I changed the speedometer cable, and the noise stopped. So i figured all is well. Now, i only get a clicking sound when it really cold out and i am above 70 km/h (about 45 mph). Once the truck warms up completely, the noise stops. I only changed the long cable from the speedomteter, not the short one that threads into the tranny. Should i change the short one? Should i have greased the new cable?
