Cab question

While looking for an axle for my Jeep I came across a 66 flat bed truck in a salvage yard. I'm not sure the size of it, maybe a 1 ton? It had large exterior steps mounted under the doors and the cab was in near perfect shape and my question is are all the cabs the same size? Would this work on a half ton minus the side steps? It appeared to be identical to my 1/2 ton cab but I'm not sure. My cab needs tons of work and this would deffinently be a time saver.
