Question coating with question???

UPS man dropped of my MAR-K cross sill's for my bed today. All four the front 3 and the rear. I'm very impressed with the quality of these. The rest of my bed parts will come from them too. But to what i really want to know lol..... what would you say the best thind to coat these with because there bare steel and once together prob wont see anything else in the line of a protectent. Is POR-15 my best bet???? My last rant about MAR-K i like that it is made in the USA!!!
