Is it possible (modern transmission to older transfer case) - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Has anyone ever done this? say mating up a 4l60e or similar modern overdrive transmission to a np205 tcase? maybe even a np208? The reason i ask is if i plan to use a 5.3/6.0 vortec, i figure i might as well use an overdrive transmission since i plan on running stock 3/4 or 1 ton axles, meaning ill have about a 3.73 or 4.11 gear, and im planning on having the truck be a highway trailer puller/daily driver. Any help or points in the right direction would be appreciated, thanks guys.
