CB radios
Figured this would be just as good of a place to post a CB question than any other section...since you don't see to many 2wd trucks with them.
I have a cheesy Radio Shack CB right now in my Blazer. It doesn't work good at all & the feedback noise in it is ridiculous So I'm looking to purchase a new one. Also would like the PA option on it; just for fun. Cause this weekend discover the CUCV parts truck (former fire dept brush truck) we bought has 2 like new PA speaker mounted in front of the radiator I can rob. If nothing else, it'll be fun to use when hollering at my 5 yr old to come to the shop when he's across the yard Learned the other day that the antennas are supposed to be tuned to the receiver...seems like it's more to them than I originally thought (hook up hot, ground, antenna, & talk). Anyway, what's y'alls experience with CBs: What are some brands/models to stay away from? What works good for you? Good/bad antennas? How/where is yours mounted?
