New guy from Texas

Thought I'd drop in and say hello to all. I recently acquired a 1971 GMC Custom LWB. It has lot's of issues, body damage, rust, and severe neglect.
It was going to head to the wrecking yard if I didn't buy it, I couldn't let that happen. I wound up paying $150.00 for the old girl.
I also figure since it was my grandpa's truck that I would bring her back to life.

My favorite part of the truck (when it's done) will be the paint. It's an original Hugger Orange/ White truck.

Here's a before picture as I had recieved it. You just gotta love those old wagon wheels, right?!!?

Well I found as rather nice set of low mileage wheels and tires for $300.00, I couldn't pass it up. The wheels are MB Motoring and the tires are BFG's T/A KO's. And I decided to take off the lame bed rails and broken up and disgusting towing mirrors ( new sport mirrors are on the way).

In case if anybody wonders what that is hanging down from the back of the truck. Let's just say it needs a new exhaust too!!!

And yes it's been my storage area for a while (trash in bed)...
