Question Time to buy my first Chevy truck at 55?

Hello to all... Tired of looking at all the various pubs such as Consumer reports, MSN Auto, Edmunds and such. All have mixed views about Chevy trucks, but most owners seem satisfied. I love Chevy styling and have never owned a Chevy. Looking for thoughts on comfort and reliability. Having back problems, so need ease of getting in and out. Considering a ext. cab - short bed 4x4 w/ cap, or a Suburban!
Did have a couple of GM cars, a 73Olds 98, and a 88 Buick Century. Both served me well. Presently own a 92 Dodge Dakota w/ 150000 mi. It's tired
Any thoughts?
