New guy from central coast of CA
Found this site while trying to research my 1968 panel, and found tons of good knowledge here. I have had my panel for around ten tears and I am finally starting to work on it. I don't know how many owners it's had but my dad got it from a friend who worked in auto sales. It had been turned in to a plumbing truck with a large piece of channel iron bolted to the side and another metal framed pipe rack bolted to the top. The back had been outfitted with wooden fitting boxes. After my dad had been using it for a work truck for a while, the motor finally went. It had a 292 in it, which is the motor that I would like to use, but I have not had the money to buy one. Right now I am just going to get it running with a 250 that I was given for free. I have little to no experience working on vehicles, especially in the realm of restoration, but I am really looking forward to this project. I know rust is bad but I do not know what is really bad. I am sure I can get some help and help others on this page. It seems to be a really great community of people.
